![]() ![]() I tried the Windows Installer Cleanup utility and that didn't even show any HP products at all to uninstall. I used Level 1 to 3 uninstallers and that didn't work. I did eveything from enabling the Vista Administator account to try uninstalling and reinstalling. I followed the doc for it but most of the steps wouldn't even complete. When I tried to install the 64 bit version, it would give me a fatal error everytime. In the end, the packaged software wouldn't install because it said I had a newer version installed. I have Photoshop CS3 so i can just do my scanning through that which is probably better anyways. I can use the printer and scanner, but not the Photosmart software. I did everything multiple times, followed 3 different support docs they sent me and nothing was really resolved. Well, I spent over 12 hours over 2 days "chatting" with 9 different HP online support people. I'v tried reinstalling the HP software from their website using the Vista 64 bit software they have posted and I still get the same errors. When I did a shut down, I got a Windows Installer error message and rebooted to get the same thing all over again. After that had happened, I unistalled the HP stuff and reinstalled it and on the reboot I got the same Windows Installer messages. I did nothing to any of the HP products directly. In order to reinstall CS3 I had to download and run CS3Cleaner which also prompted me to download the Windows Installer Clean Up Utility. A week ago I had problems with Adobe CS3 Web Design Premium and the licensing. We also let Kelly know about this.So I purchased the above mentioned HP printer and installed with the disk that came with. After holding down OK, Cancel, Black and Color buttons while turning it off, I turned it back on, it turned itself off and I turned it back on again, it started off doing the calibration and it took about 5 minutes, but when it was finished I had a working printer again. I didn't quite get the reset right the first time, but on the second try it worked. Tried everything I could find, and had just about given up when I found this forum. Our HP 3310 was having the same ink system failure. You will have to turn the printer off twice and then it will recalibrate. Keep holding the buttons down until the printer shuts off and then turn it back on. Reset the system by holding down the OK, Cancel, Black, and Color buttons down at the same time and turn the 3310 off. Please check out this link for the Ink System Failure problem. ![]()
